Copper Giant Resources (TSX-V:CGNT) has updated its updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) at the Mocoa Copper-Molybdenum Porphyry Project in Colombia, announcing its first indicated mineral resource.
The updated mineral resource estimate (MRE) comprises indicated mineral resources of 290 million tonnes (Mt) @ 0.54% copper equivalent (CuEq) (0.33% copper and 0.038% molybdenum), containing 2.13 billion pounds of copper (Cu) and 240 million pounds of molybdenum (Mo).
Inferred mineral resources total 1.60 billion tonnes at 0.40% CuEq (0.27% copper and 0.025% molybdenum), containing 9.36 billion pounds of copper and 0.89 billion pounds of molybdenum.
The estimate represents approximately 50% more contained copper than the November 2025 resource, with total contained copper reaching 11.49 billion pounds across both categories.
The MRE incorporates 8,546m of drilling completed since the 2025 estimate, though approximately 10,000m of additional drilling completed since the data cut-off remains excluded.
President and CEO Ian Harris says Mocoa is “now both better defined and larger than it was a year ago”.
Copper Giant intends to file a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) during Q4 2026, marking the first development assessment for the project.
The company currently operates four drill rigs at Mocoa, having expanded from two rigs at the start of 2026.
Copper Giant Resources, a part of the Fiore Group, is focused on advancing high-quality copper projects beyond resource definition.
